The Riley partnership, named for the 1990 Kentucky Derby winner, owns Watson I Need You, a two-year-old New York-bred Phone Trick colt out of Pleasent Ring, by Pleasant Colony. We purchased Watson I Need You for $50,000 at the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co. March sale, after he'd failed to meet his reserve when he went through the auction ring, on a high bid of $72,000.
He's a big strong colt and is getting ready for a fairly quick debut, assuming nothing goes wrong.  He’s already in Bill Turner’s barn at Belmont and has started breezing, so we’re hoping for a summer debut, either at Belmont or Saratoga.
The partnership will be capitalized at $75,000, and the minimum share is $1,500, or a 2% interest.
